You can find a really good tutorial about how to make an amigurumi and how to sew all bodyparts together at crochetme. You can also find some patterns there.

If you like to create an amigurumi with an original japanese pattern check out amazon.com for books. There are a cupple of them out there. And when you've realized that the x is a sc, then everything will be fine =). You also may find the following link to be very helpful. my little moochi has put together a list of japanese and english crochet abbreviations.

At roxycrafts shop you can gets some cool patterns, some of them are for free.
